Bill P. Godfrey et al
Welcome to my incredibly stupid website. This was my pride and joy from '04 to '07. I've since rescued it from its barely- functioning state and I'm presenting it here.

I hope you enjoy it.

  • "Word up"?

By Anonymous Anonymous, At 9:09 PM, December 15, 2006

  • Word Up, the famous song sung by numerous people - including the Space Grills. It's rather clever, if slightly cheeky lyrics discuss the long running channel 4 (UK) production, "Countdown".

    The lyrics go something like this;

    "Welcome to the show,
    biddle-bum, biddle do
We have a couple of numbers games,
    and a conunderum to.
But the meat of our show
    isn't all that hard
    We have magnetic letters
    hung on bits of card

Word up! (Get your 8 letters out we'll check them if you please)
Word up! (6 points, 10 points there is no doubt, counting on your hands and knees)
Word up! (With Carol looking younger than ever - something to do with loans)
Word up! (Now with Des he don't talk clever, but raises chuckles around the homes)

In the corner we have a lovely lass you see
She sits with the stars and reads the diction'ry
She points with her pen thing
    That makes things look large
    Make up your own punchline
I'm going back to the cards

Word up! (One from the top and four from anywhere else)
Word up! (That's not right you know, take your time now, it's on the house)
Word up! (here's a sticky one before the break)
Word up! (we've been going 20 years or more, we're good for goodness sake)

[bridge] How many vowels must a man stick up before he has a word? How many Consonents must resonate before the land goes to the birds?

Word up! [That's a good one, I think we had it last week]
Word up! [Let me just check your notes, I don't want you to cheat]
Word up! [This is a funny joke, but you don't have to laugh]
Word up! [This is just a silly song, about a programme scrambly letters okay pard?]

With her pen she makes things bigger
    biddle-bum, biddle do
With her pen she makes things bigger
    biddle-bum, biddle do
With her pen she makes things bigger
    biddle-bum, biddel do
When the clock runs out you know what to do

    Word up!"
