Animated short of the week (Squirrel of Life)
From the creator of I've got some falling to do and Can O' Swedes, my personal favourite of his work (so far). The sublime, the ridiculous...
I'm wilfully breaking one of my own rules this week. If you follow this link, you won't see the animation right away. Instead, you'll see the interstitial launch page. There's another button to click which will launch a pop-up window with the animation inside.
(If you have a pop-up blocker, you may have to disable it or make an exception for that site.)
I don't like this arrangement (quell surprise). However, it is common among flash portals such as Newgrounds, FlashPlayer, Animutation Portal, etc. This quote below is from an anonymous comment to my Newgrounds and Me article, which touched on this very topic.
Oh yeah, and what did you think of the animation itself?

"Moreover, the launch pages allow people to read the description of the animation or game, as well as view the score, reviews, etc. without having to load the movie unless they think it's worth watching. It saves viewers time and saves bandwidth, too."So I'd like to ask you, what do you think of this issue? Any (non-spam) comments welcome.
