Excuse me, this is England!
I just had a strange experience at my local supermarket. The checkout assistant was *gasp* friendly! Even striking up conversation, even telling me about this 8 core computer he's building.
The ability to talk with complete strangers is something I like about Americans. It's just a bit of a surprise when it happens in England.
Still, jolly good show old chap.

Ah, I've been having similar ones with the people at "Game Stop" in the bullring as I hunt through for old PS1 titles - often discussing all those RPGs that people tend to grab hold of and sell for squillions (well £70+) when it would be nice if we got a chance to see them and buy them to play... so many classic games only got a limited release... maybe it's a nerdy gamer thing... I don't know... but it is a nice surprise, I agree...
