This week, I have been annoyed by... water.

Gah! The roof is leaking, and it's just coming up to the great annual contract worker's strike, Christmas. At least the leak is small and I've got buckets in place.

Whereas I have an abundance of water in this case, I have a distinct lack of water in another. My car windscreen squirter is running out. It's a simple job to fix, so I'm not that worried. The only problem was that I noticed the lack of water after some dirty water had been sprayed onto the windscreen by a van's wheels. I pulled the washer trigger to get the water flowing, but nothing. This was made worse by the fact that the car's makers ever so helpfully made it so that when you squirt the water, the wipers will make 6 swipes automatically.

Thing is, there was no water, but the wipers went anyway. Result, all the dirty water has smeared over the screen, making it even less visible and there was no way to disable this helpful feature. If, down the years, the squirters develop a fault which would require the driver to hold the squirters on for a while, the wipers will probably still come on when they are least required. Gah!

If such a thing does happen, I'm going to have to organise by own replacement squirter, probably along the lines of a bottle water and winding the window down.
