I Have Delusions of Shallowness?

In a discussion with Bill this evening he described me as being a deep person. I was shocked and said so. So apparently I'm deep and didn't know it? Hmmmmm...

I've never met a deep person with delusions of shallowness before.

  • We are all a mishmash of bits and bobs that make ourselves up. On one level, we can be very shallow, on another we can be very deep. It's the way we are and our inner conflicts exist to deny us easy labelisation.

We are also self depreciating. We tend to pick up on, what we consider are, our worst qualities even if we also possess the opposite [shallow or deep?] and are like "oh... no... you're mistaken kind sir" when someone points out that we are something that conflicts with our personal mental image.

I know I don't know you well enough to comment on your deep shallowness or shallow deepness - but I know Bill, and he's a pretty good judge of people.

  • Yes, he's a good sort. I vote we keep him. (Added bonus: If we keep him, we don't have to change the name of the blog!)

Okay, so it's his blog. I'm dabbling in delusions of grandeur in case the deep bit doesn't work out.

  • :-) The grandeur the delusion, the better...

You know... with the social phenomenon [ I can never spell that, and the spell checker was convinced I was trying to put "Feminism"... got there in the end though] that is blogs, and the facination of reality tv with "voting people off" things... it's only a matter of time before we have the

"big survivor apprentice love island average joe blog vote off" where a team of 16 interesting people get to write a blog for 14 weeks, each week, the dullest blogger gets voted off....

[makes me think of the "Monty Python" Novel writing sketch though]
