Facts Redux 3 - I am English

I feel I spend too much time doing YouTube videos, so I got my friends to do one for me.

And don't you know, it's a beautiful new day...

Last year, I linked to a video of a family day out, set to ELO's Mr Blue Sky. Let's watch it again.

The day after, someone left a comment...
Wow. I'm smiling now :). I need to have more kids!
-- Jessie

That comment was left nine months ago today. I wonder if congratulations are in order.

Death of a camera (ish)

My camera's final moments...

In the end, it turned out that the battery had just became unclipped in the fall, but I only noticed after I had already made and published this video. The camera's fine, but a little scratched.

Facts Redux 2 - I prefer to be behind the camera

Not all video makers are extroverts, you know.

Patron saint of engineers

Today is the day to celebrate Patrick of Ireland, marking the 1514th anniversary of his death.

For me, it marks the first Patrick's day since I knew about my Irish ancestry through my great-grand-father. So since I'm only one-eighth Irish, I'll only be celebrating for three hours today.

Since I also have one-eighth Belgian ancestry, I'll also be celebrating Joseph of Nazareth on Monday for three hours. No idea how though.

Enjoy.

Be my friend?

Ages ago, I created myself a MySpace account, just as a bit of a joke.

Now someone wants to be my "friend", but I've never heard of this individual. Should I be worried?

I guess I got the answer to my "Now what?" question.

Facts Redux 1 - I like ducks

My regular bloggees may recall a short video I make back in December, 'Facts and things I love'.

But what if the few seconds dedicated to each fact isn't enough? Never fear, dear reader, here's the first of a series. Enjoy.

Coming up... I prefer to be behind the camera.

You're still young, that's your fault.

This line out of Cat Stevens's Father and Son makes no sense to me at all. How can anyone be responsible for their own age? Is it my fault that I'm 32?

Excuse me while I go insane for a nanosecond.

Life in 60 seconds.

Okay, I'm going to take a deep breath and rattle off a quick, non-rambling summary of where I am. This is going to be quick. Blink and you miss it, especially if your blinks take 30 to 60 seconds to complete :-)

I've recently started the following things again; drawing, playing guitar, singing, writing short stories, writing poetry, walking. Work has been mixed. Good days, bad days, busy days, sad days. Restructuring again. Been thinking about my life. Realised many things. Some I've shared on my blogger blog some I haven't. Some I've shared with friends, some I've not. Secrets a plenty. Having to wonder where I am as the world around me falls apart. Been spending time on the canal; walking. Taking it all in. My relaxing place. Excellent to have found it. I've abandoned Tv for the most part; most evenings being spent relaxing with a book and music. (at the moment, the music being largely the work of the Finn Brothers, Neil and Tim; their solo stuff and groups (namely Split Enz, Crowded House and ALT) but also people like the Barenaked ladies. Discovering last.fm being a nice bonus; books changing almost daily)
On the whole, things are up and down like a yoyo. But right now, I'm happy.

That's where I am now.
Have many good days (and excellent evenings),
M

Descent Into Insanity (Toast!)

Bill the Warlock makes toast! Meanwhile, Bill the real person experiments with stop-motion animation.

Here's where I heard the music from.

PS. I've been listening to the music of Mr Strangelove. Have a listen to Dreaming Louise if nothing else.
