valued words © M

hush. There is much to be said,
about the man who says little
and yet imparts so much.
Who contemplates that which is uttered,
rather than letting a torrent of
miscellany spew forth and flood the air.
The words spoken infrequently
that say so much more than those which
appear with alarming regularity.
So hush, listen, pay attention.
He is a veritable mine
of information
and you might learn something.

Not been blogging much lately

2006 was an odd year. In 2005, this blog had seen 304 blog posts. 2006, in contrast, only saw 122 posts.

If I continue 2007 at the current rate, I will have made only 53 posts. That's almost as many as July 2005 alone, although a fair few of those were by my ole bud "M".

Clearly, my current posting rate is just not good enough.

I think part of the decline was when I decided to stop doing my Animated Short of the Week feature. While that was running, I had a weekly milestone. To have two animation articles next to each other would clearly show that I've not written anything that week, so I would usually aim to have at least three regular articles between each milestone.

Alas, this feature was becoming less and less fun for me to do. I was running out of good animations and it was starting to feel like a chore. Since I saw that I was coming up to 100 featured animations soon, that would seem like a good place to stop.

And so, with the passing of the weekly milestone, my additional incentive to make regular bloggings passed with it.

Having said that, it seems to me that the quality of the average article has gone up, now that I'm only really blogging when I have something to say.

Then there's the effect of YouTube, but that's another story.

Spatchcock!

What's Spatchcock? No idea, but the word is funny. Here's Brian's recipe...

And my response...

Enjoy.

Snowfall

I promised someone that I'd take some photos of the snow we had here in England a few days ago. Unfortunately, I lost my camera.

But now I've found it again. Enjoy this photo, as promised.

Many thanks to the people next door.
