4300 Rd, Coffeyville, Kansas, USA

The centre of north America, according to Google Maps, just outside the Coffeyville country club.

Perfect, if you ever get a feeling that you are not in Kansas any more.

  • I find it worrying that it goes a bit bonkers if I zoom in and scroll over the ocean... but more worrying is what has happened to the rest of the world ?
With the exception of the United States, we seem lacking countries, islands... continents...

Does this mean that England is just a figment of someone's imagination ?
If so... what am I? [I told you you shouldn't eat that cheese before bedtime!]

  • The Atlantic ocean is big. Really big. You wouldn't believe how mind-bogglingly big it is. You may think it's a long way to the chemists... oh never mind.

  • A point well made. It, in fact, quite a walk to my chemists. Well... Especially as it's in Kidderminster and I'm in Coventry right now. But that's besides the point.

I'm a little concerned that there is no South America [shown on their map]... is this part of the US Government's future plan ? Do they expect sea levels to rise due to global warming and, as we speak, are erecting huge barriers along the coastlines to protect themselves ? (It would explain their reluctance to adopt any of the emissions guidelines that the rest of the world... well.. Europe at least... are having to follow. Based on the assuption that they've projected it's gonna happen in the next 5 to 10 years and cutting emissions now would be too little too late.)
